Jerome Antonio B. Constantino
Jerome has over 35 years of extensive experience in public practice, particularly in the field of auditing, business risk management, business and tax advisory, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and industry research studies. He was a Senior Director in the Assurance Group of Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co (SGV) and left a promising career to organize and head the Firm in 1999. Also, he was a Finance Consultant, among others, of a government agency regulatory office mandated to monitor compliance and performance of its concessionaires on water and wastewater services in Metro Manila and a reviewer of a consortium of banks in connection with a debt restructuring agreement of a distribution company.
Jerome holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in Accounting from the University of Sto. Tomas, Manila, where he earned recognition as “Outstanding Alumnus” in 2004 for his achievements in the practice of public Accounting. He completed the Management Development Program at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) and a scholarship program at the International University of Japan. In addition, he attended various Audit and Risk Management training programs at St. Charles, Illinois, USA.
Jerome is a member of the Philippine Interpretations Committee, formed by the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards Council (FRSC), principally to issue implementation guidance on Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS). He was also a member of the Auditing Assurance Standards Council, the Body authorized to establish and promulgate Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) in the Philippines.
Jerome is a Past President of the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP), He was given a presidential award in 2001 for his contribution in pursuing the long-term research and professional development objectives of the organization. He was a former President of the Eastern Metro Manila Chapter and also a former member of the public practice sector of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). He was a recipient of the Outstanding CPA in Public Practice Award from PICPA Metro Manila in 2002. He is also an active member of the Tax Management Association of the Philippines and the Financial Executive Institute of the Philippines. Furthermore, he is a past President of the Rotary Club of Makati-EDSA in 2005.
